Rhonda Talley McClung, age 62, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 6, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Don and Janett Talley.

Rhonda grew up in Holliday, Texas, and graduated from Holliday High School. She went on to earn degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Vanderbilt University.

Her career began as a sports writer for the Wichita Falls Times Record News. She later worked at the Texas State Capitol in Austin before pursuing a master's degree in higher education and philanthropy from Vanderbilt University.

Rhonda's professional life was dedicated to higher education and nonprofit advancement. She began her development career at the University of North Texas and went on to serve in leadership positions across the country. She was Executive Director of Development at Angelo State University, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Belmont University, and Senior Foundation Relations Officer at Special Olympics in Washington, D.C. She later served as Senior Consultant for Jeffrey Byrne + Associates and as Director of Development for Powell Gardens in Kansas City. Most recently, she returned home to Texas and held leadership roles at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, where she served as Assistant Vice President of Gift Planning and Development and later as Interim Vice President for Advancement.

Through her career, Rhonda helped raise millions of dollars to support education, nonprofits, and community programs. She was admired for her vision, her commitment to philanthropy, and her gift for building relationships that made a lasting impact.

Outside of her career, Rhonda's greatest devotion was to her family. She was a dedicated sports mom, cheering tirelessly for her son Ben's football and baseball teams and for her daughter Issie's volleyball. She was an outstanding wife and mother, always supportive, and made countless sacrifices for her family. As a true coach's wife, she embraced the many moves and changes that came with her husband's coaching career, always creating a home filled with love and stability wherever life took them.

In typical Rhonda fashion, she insisted there be no funeral during football season. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of the year to celebrate her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Hank McClung; her son, Ben McClung; her daughter, Issie McClung; her mother, Janett Talley; her sisters, Bridget Rogers and husband Kevin, and Lisa Little; her brother- and sister-in-law, Sam and Dawn McClung; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don Talley; her daughter, Talley McClung; her brother-in-law, John Little; her niece, Breann Little Moore; and her father- and mother-in-law, Wayne and Barbara McClung.

Rhonda will be remembered for her intelligence, her compassion, and her lifelong devotion to her family and to helping others succeed.

A visitation will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday October 22nd from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rhonda McClung's name to Midwestern State University; MSU Advancement 3410 Taft Blvd, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76308.
