Ms. Linda Shelton, age 79 of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, October 8th at her home.
Linda was born July 13, 1946, in Greenville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alvin Bivins and Lula Dukes Bivins.
Linda loved her family more than anything. She didn't have really any hobbies to speak of but the things she loved to do were the things she did for and with her family. She gave birth to eight children but was a mother to an army. Her entire being centered around being a mother. Her hands have changed more diapers than one could count, kissed away and healed so many boo boos, hemmed pants for the boys, sewed dresses for the girls, had casino dates with all the family, had family
poker nights, holiday dinners, pulled most every tooth lost by the littles ones and even did crazy Tik Tok videos with the grandkids. Her door was always open, and no one was turned away. If you were hungry, she'd fix something to eat for you. If you were cold, you could come in and get warm. You couldn't count the many who slept on her couch. She was "all" mother and giving of love and will forever be remembered as such.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Shelton; a daughter, Angela Shelton; four brothers, Glendal, Paul Ray, Donald, Freddie and Darrell Bivins and a sister, Lucille Willis. She is survived by three sons, Terry Lear (Debbie) of Elkton, Scott Shelton (Beth) of Elkton and Larry Keith Shelton (Cindy) of Crofton; five daughters, Teresa Cannon of Elkton, Stacie Shelton of
Elkton, Patricia Shelton of Elkton, Mable Meece of Carrollton, Kentucky and Tina Terpening (Mort) of Hopkinsville; a sister, Louise Morris of Greenville, Kentucky; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren.
The family chose cremation. There will be a Memorial Service on a later date.
