Elizabeth Anne Shelton

Elizabeth Anne (Becker) Shelton, age 82 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025.

She was born and raised in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Ella M. (Dwyer) and Francis S. Becker. Anne graduated from Ursuline Academy. She then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in math from Immaculata College and a master's degree in math from Villanova University.

Anne started her working career as a schoolteacher at the former St. Joseph on the Brandywine Elementary School and then at St. Catherine of Siena Elementary School. She then switched careers and worked for Wilmington Trust for 20 years, retiring as a Project Manager for Trust Information Systems.

Anne volunteered teaching reading at an adult literacy program. She enjoyed walking at Bellevue State Park and regularly playing Mahjong with her neighbors.

Anne is survived by her three siblings, Sr. Marie T. Becker, O.S.B., Robert A. Becker, Gerald "Jerry" F. Becker; her nephews and their families. She is also preceded in death by her brother James Francis "Frank" Becker.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29 from 10-11 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Benedictine Sisters at St. Gertrude Monastery, 25 Gender Road, Newark, DE19713
