Thomas Wade Shelton,73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 31, 2025, at Stillhouse Healthcare Facility. Thomas was born to Denzil Thad Shelton and Dorothy (Dot) Lee Shelton in Roswell, New Mexico, on November 6, 1951. Tommy lived in many places throughout his dad's military years and resided back in Paris.

Tommy worked many years in the cabinet business, including Rodgers Wade, HWH, along with owning his own cabinet shop. He was well known to many for his quality and detail of his work. He also had a love for painting in the 70's and 80's and leaves behind many paintings in Paris and surrounding areas. Tommy had a love for cooking and grilling in his younger years that followed him into his later years, with his plethora of spices and seasonings he kept on hand at Stillhouse, making his meals some of the best in the building. His deep love for music and song artists stayed with him through the years, as he played Rock and Roll daily on his YouTube TV. He could hear a song and name the band and year like a Rockstar.

He is preceded in death by his father, Denzil Shelton, his mother, Dorothy Shelton, and infant brother, Ronald Wayne Shelton, and nephew, Dustin Shelton.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Shelton, sister, Darlia Brockway and husband, Robby, and brother, Daryl Shelton. His children, April Roddy and husband, Clint, Aaron Shelton, Amy Eppler and husband, Spencer, grandchildren, Callie Tucker, Ty Eppler, Creighton Shelton, Paige Shelton-Ford, Payton Eppler-Sparks, Karli Shelton, Marlie Eppler, Collins and Clare Roddy. Stepchildren, Brian Benningfield, wife, Sharlene and children, Stephanie Gillean and children. Nieces and nephews Leslie Bullard, Lance Brockway, and Brock Shelton.

Pallbearers are Creighton Shelton, Ty Eppler, Denver Hardy, Spencer Eppler, Robby Brockway, and Brian Benningfield.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff and residents of Stillhouse for the last four years of exceptional care, true love and friendships as well as Chambers Hospice for their care and support. Another special heartfelt thanks to his best friend Dillard for always checking on him and reminding him of bingo and sharing his snacks.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the activities and events department at Stillhouse Healthcare Facility 2900 Stillhouse Road Paris, Texas 75462.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at Fry Gibbs at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Detroit Cemetery.
