Linda Lou Hill Smith, 82, of Dandridge, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024. Linda was born and raised in Dandridge and graduated from Maury High School in 1959. While in high school, she met and remained married to Ronnie Smith, her high school sweetheart, for 63 years.
Linda was proceeded in death by her parents, James and Doris Hill, husband, Ronnie, and son, Donnie. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Smith Morgan, daughter-in-law, Lisa Gary Smith; sisters, Nina (Sandy) Brimer, and Shirley (Charles) Holt; and grandchildren, Travis (Whitney) Morgan, Brian (Kira) Morgan, Rory and Marly Smith; great grandchildren, Nora and Kelsey; special dogs, Chief and Benji; and special friends, Ann and Jim Allison, and Ruby Blair.
Linda retired from American Enka/BASF and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Linda was known for her work ethic, her sense of humor, and for the caring and kindness shown to all those around her. Linda enjoyed hiking, exercising, Lady Vol Basketball, Tennessee Smokies Baseball, camping, vacationing around the country, and especially her family. She played basketball for Maury High School. Special thanks to the staff and special people at Charter Memory Care and Jefferson Park at Dandridge.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home at Dandridge with Reverend Darrell Chambers officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
