Linda McDaniel Smith, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in Brandon, MS, just days shy of her 78th birthday. Born on September 18, 1947, in Kosciusko, MS, to James and Edith McDaniel, Linda lived a life marked by joy and service.

Linda's journey through life was one of family and commitment. Known for her radiant smile and warm heart, she was a talented cosmetologist who brought beauty and happiness into the lives of her clients. Linda's work was not just a career; it was her way of connecting, where she formed lasting friendships with clients and coworkers.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda's world. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Phillip Leon Smith, and a loving mother to her children, including her late son, Phillip Stacy Smith. Linda's legacy is carried on through her son, Chad Scott Smith, her sister Brenda Little, and her vibrant bunch of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Anna, Tristan, Robert, Madison, Ella, Adrian, Cameron, Kynslee, King, Kelcie, Hollyn, and Rylan, each of whom she adored and invested her time and love into, creating cherished memories and cooking wonderful meals.

Linda's life was also touched by loss, as she was predeceased by her parents, James and Edith McDaniel, her son Phillip Stacy Smith and her great-granddaughter Lundyn Thompson.

In her leisure, Linda's hands were often found tending to her garden, where she cultivated not only flowers and plants but also a sense of peace and contentment. Her pool was a loved retreat and happy place. She spent hours on end with her grandchildren teaching them how to swim. Above all, Linda's greatest pleasure was found in the laughter and time spent with her family whom she adored.

As we bid farewell to Linda "Nana" Smith, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. Her kind spirit, generous heart, and the joy she brought to those around her will forever be remembered and deeply missed. Linda's remarkable journey through life leaves behind a legacy of love and a blueprint for kindness and family devotion that will continue to inspire generations to come.
