Linda Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bland Funeral Home - Petersburg on Dec. 10, 2025.
Ms. Linda "Kay" Smith, age 84, of Hopewell, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her granddaughter's home, surrounded by the people she loved most.
Kay was the heart of her family. She shared 64 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gene Smith, and together they built a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. She was preceded in death by Gene; her parents, Ralph and Lois Linn; her daughters, Teresa Matthews and Tina Strotman; her son, Genie Smith; and a great-grandson and two great-granddaughters whom she now holds close again.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debi Lipscomb (David) and Dorothy Joyce (George); her grandchildren, Mary Kay Stokes (Terry), Shana Tucker (Jermond), Wyatt Lipscomb (Bridgett), Chris Smith (Jennifer), Bruce Robinson, Makayla Smith, and Jordan Smith; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her.
Kay was a devoted stay-at-home mother who poured her love into raising her five children and later delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren. She found joy in the simple things-taking peaceful rides, working through her puzzle books, and being surrounded by family. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love will live on through the many lives she touched. Kay will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
