Linda D. Sukow, 69, of Merrill, passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2024, under the care of hospice while at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Linda passed away from RSV complications arising from her long-time struggle with COPD.
Linda was born June 2, 1954, in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of Charles 'Chuck' Oleson and Dolores (Minton) Oleson. She married Brian 'Mort' Sukow on June 14, 1998, in Merrill. He survives. Linda had worked at Fox Point in Merrill. She also worked as the alteration supervisor at the Guy's Shop and Thelma's Bridal.
Linda had a big heart and loved her family dearly. Her passion was going to the cabin in Gleason. She was an animal lover and also enjoyed butterflies. Her favorite flower was daisies; handpicked daisies from Brian meant more than any bouquet he could buy at the store. Linda enjoyed taking monthly trips to the Casino. She was a Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan and in younger years she shot pool in a league through Jeske's bar.
Survivors include her husband, Brian 'Mort' Sukow of Merrill; children, Amanda (Trevor) Mildenberger of Merrill and Werner (Vanessa) Roggenbuck of Neenah; step daughter, Amy (Russ) Kitsembel of Wausau; five grandchildren, Dominnic Fillmore, Jeffrey Fillmore, Mykal Roggenbuck, Ayla Roggenbuck, and Noah Roggenbuck; sister, Ida Jo (Phil) Knospe of Merrill; brother, Eugene (Marcia) Oleson of Merrill; half siblings, Julie Jo Lezotte, Rodney Oleson, and Floyd (Heather) Oleson; and step siblings, Tammy Schult and Scott Schult. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles 'Chuck' (Sam) Oleson and Dolores (Pat) Daley.
Per Linda's wishes, no formal service will be held. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
The family requests memorials in Linda's name be directed to the Lincoln County Humane Society – 310 N. Memorial Dr., Merrill, WI 54452
