Linda Hayes Swygert, 67, of Newberry, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at her home.
Born on June 27, 1957, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Dock Braxton and Joyce Jackson Hayes. Linda retired from Springfield Place as the nurse manager. She was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and keeping up with her grandchildren. She was always reading and loved checking on others.
Linda is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Swygert; canine companion, Kenzie; sons, Lindsey Dean (Kerry) Stribble of Little Mountain, Michael Braxton (Allison) Stribble of Newberry and Franklin Dell “Bubba” Hayes of Augusta, GA; daughter, Jamie Stribble of Suffolk, VA; step-daughter, Ashley Swygert of Newberry; grandchildren, Colin Stribble, Landon McCoig, Blake Stribble, Maddy Stribble, Erin Murphy, Braeden Murphy, Teagan Hayes and Eli Swygert; sisters, Patricia Tiffner of Gilbert and Donna Hayes of Lexington; brother-in-law, Tim (Tracy) Swygert of Prosperty; sister-in-law, Paula (Bill) Denton of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Kristopher McLeod, Kayce (Brian) Shealy, Hailey (Webb) Atkinson, Erik Little, Kasey Denton and Morgan Swygert and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 6, 2025, at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Camden Bagwell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
Memorials may be made to Glenn Street Baptist Church, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
