LINDA IRL HICKS THOMAS

DOTHAN, AL… Linda Irl Hicks Thomas, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Monday evening, October 10, 2022, at a Dothan hospital. She was 77.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Level Plains Cemetery with Reverend Scott Thompson officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Headland.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Irl Rupert Hicks and Naomi Ruth Joiner Hicks. She was a graduate of Carroll High School Class of 1963 in Ozark, Alabama. Mrs. Thomas lived in the Wiregrass area most of her life. She was employed as an office administrator. She later moved to Lake Charles, LA for five years before returning home to the Wiregrass area. She enjoyed bird watching, playing the keyboard and piano.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Obie Clyde Thomas.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Tish Thomas Halbrook (Russell); her son, Cary Thomas (Vickie); her sister, Sandra Hicks Marsh (Bobby); her brother, Danny Hicks (Darlene); her grandchildren, Cara Arnold (Austin), Autumn Hitchcock (Travis), Jacob Halbrook, Tanner Purvis, Joshua Halbrook, Jesse Halbrook; her great-grandchildren, Eli Arnold, Ivy Jo Arnold, Bentley Hitchcock, and Stetson Hitchcock.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jacob Halbrook, Joshua Halbrook, David Johnson, Tanner Purvis, Austin Arnold, and Travis Hitchcock.
