Linda Tornetta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home on Jan. 11, 2025.
Linda Boyd Tornetta, of Phoenixville, Pa, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Norristown, Pa, March 24, 1948, to the late George Boyd and Anna Marie (Santangelo) Strickland; Linda was the beloved wife of Todd Welsh; loving mother of Todd Anderson (Lynne), step-mother of Catie Welsh (Drew Uhl), and Susan Welsh Greene (Michael); cherished grandmother of Griffin Anderson, Logan Anderson, and AJ Uhl. Linda was preceded in death by her brother Gregory Boyd, and her parents George Boyd and Anna Marie (Santangelo) Strickland and her Uncle Joseph Santangelo.
Linda's Dad passed when she was thirteen and she was raised by her single working mom along with an entire village of grandparents, brother, uncle, aunts, and family.
She had an amazing life, graduating from Sacred Heart Hospital in 1966 as a laboratory technician and practiced at several private labs before joining Quest Diagnostics as a senior phlebotomist from 1992 until 2002.
Between 1983 and 1990 she was responsible for the nationwide maintenance of a fleet of 150 automotive vehicles for Beech-Nut baby foods.
During those years, she ran a profitable dog and cat boarding kennel on her horse farm in Blue Bell, PA along with a retail tack shop.
In 2003 she became an Allied Health Instructor and taught medical technology courses at Lincoln Technical Institute from 2003 until 2007, one of her favorite jobs.
Linda finished her working career as the manager of the phlebotomy department at Montgomery Hospital in 2010 and went on to volunteer at the Phoenixville Free Clinic in retirement.
Linda was an avid gardener and cultivated beautiful landscapes. She truly had a green thumb. She was also very gifted at interior design and decorating. She spent the last 17 years traveling and seeking out adventure with her husband Todd Welsh with a special love for Florence Italy where they got engaged. Her greatest joy came from her family. She was an amazing Wife, Mom, Nana, and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to Linda's Life Celebration on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by her memorial service at 11:30 AM at the Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, Pa, 200 W. Germantown Pike; private interment to follow.
Linda's family encourages you to send flowers to share in her love of gardening.
