Linda (Carlen) VanGeest, 78, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on September 27, 2025.
A graduate from Union High School, Linda worked as a Realtor or at Amway much of her adult life. She enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and family, particularly her many cousins with whom she was close. Linda was especially proud of returning to school later in life and earning her Bachelor's degree in education from Grand Valley State University.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Robert Carlen; sister, Patricia Carlen Rupley; brother, Thomas Carlen; and daughter, Ellen Berends. She is survived by her son, Jonathan VanGeest (Sarah); grandchildren, Joshua VanGeest (Evelyn), Aaron VanGeest, Hannah VanGeest, Jacob Berends (Jessica), Christian Berends, Emma McKiernan (Connor), and Grace Viszmeg (Vincent); great-great granddaughters Halle and Eva; and a loving extended family.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place, there will be no service. A private memorial for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
