Mrs. Linda Whitehurst, 80, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord and Savior along with her sister, Marci Davis, and her brother-in-law, Eddie Davis on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 2:30 pm in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm at the funeral home.
Linda was born in Newport News, Virginia. She spent most of her life in the Stokes and Robersonville community. She met the love of her life, Dewey, in the fourth grade and they were married on September 8th, 1963. She cherished being a mother to her three children, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
She enjoyed sewing with family members in her early years; and loved gardening and taking care of her many different flowers as well as discovering a good thrift store find. She also loved cooking and baking for her family and community. She especially loved making everyone's favorite cake for their birthday and her special fudge for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Whitehurst; father, Edgar Warren; mother, Lucille Warren; her mother-in-law, Agnes Whitehurst; and her father-in-law, Clarence Whitehurst.
She is survived by her: daughters, Sharon Bell and husband, Roger, of Greenville, and Sandy West and husband, Hugh, of Winterville; son, C.D. Whitehurst and wife, Ginger, of Garner; grandchildren, Kari Ann Bell, Chelsea Peaden and husband, Michael, Gracie West and fiancé, Jeremiah Wood, and Olivia West, and Will, Ben, and Nicholas Whitehurst;
great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Blair Peaden; brother, Clayton Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Oak Grove Church of Christ, 4347 NC 903 North, Robersonville, NC 27871.
