Jack Weathersby, 80, of Bethel, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and love. Born on May 26, 1945, Jack lived a full life dedicated to his family, his community, and his Lord.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home prior to the burial.

A proud veteran, Jack served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he pursued higher education, earning a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University. He then committed his career to public health, working for many years as an Environmental Health Specialist with the Pitt County Health Department, where he was respected for his diligence and integrity.

Jack's calling to ministry was a cornerstone of his life. He faithfully pastored several congregations over the years, including Saints Delight, Winterville Baptist, Friendship Original Free Will Baptist, and Hickory Grove OFWB Church. His sermons were known for their heartfelt sincerity and unwavering message of hope and grace.

Jack married the love of his life, Doris, and together they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to true love, partnership, and faith. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jack found his greatest joy in the time spent with his family. His love extended to his community and to all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Outside of his ministry and professional life, Jack had a deep love for music. He found joy and fellowship as a member of The Backyard Band, where he played with passion and brought joy to those around him.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris; his daughter, Aimee; his parents, Callie Briley and Clyde Weathersby; and his siblings.

He is survived by his cherished granddaughter, Sage Lewis, and his devoted son-in-law, Donald Lewis. Their love and care were a constant source of strength and comfort to him in his later years.
