Ling-Ling L. Hung, PhD passed away on February 22, 2025 at her home in Marlton, NJ. She was 71. Born and raised in Taiwan, she was the third of 7 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Fennie Chow, son Chien-Hsiang Chow, MD, daughter-in-law Rowena, grandchildren Connor, Ryan, and Camilla, and her 6 siblings.
As a proud alumnus of Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, Dr. Hung received both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Department of Biology. She immigrated to the US to further her studies at Oregon State University, where she completed her PhD in Forest Soil Microbiology.
Dr. Hung settled in Cherry Hill, NJ in 1991, where she raised her children while working in Philadelphia, PA as an Environmental Microbiologist and Laboratory Director. She was an active member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, serving on the Biosafety & Environmental Microbiology Committee and becoming an AIHA fellow in 2020.
During her 30+ years in South Jersey, Ling-Ling became a member, and ultimately a pillar, of South Jersey Christian Fellowship in Magnolia, NJ. Though she served in several ministries over the years, the closest to her heart was English-to-Mandarin translation.
Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, March 22 from 10-11am at the Bradley Funeral Home (601 Rt 73 South) in Marlton, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 11am.
