Linn Douglas MacDonnold, Jr., 94, of Republic, MO, passed away on September 4, 2025. Doug was born on November 20, 1930 in Jackson, Tennessee to parents Linn Sr. and Esther. He is survived by his two sons, John and David, both of Republic, MO, his grandson Daniel MacDonnold, granddaughter Jillian Johnson and husband Jesse Johnson, and great grandchildren Juniper, Jesse II, and Hailee. He is also survived by his nieces Beverly, Susan, Debbie, Peggy, and Geraldine, and nephews Joe T., Bryon, and Buddy. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie, of 74 years. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Linn and Esther, and sisters, Margaret and Patricia. Bonnie and Doug relocated from Coventry, Rhode Island to Republic, Missouri in 2000. Doug retired as a lithographer. Doug was an avid golfer for his entire life. He was named Coventry Pine Golf Course Club Champion multiple years in a row. In his later years he played at Island Green Golf Course of Republic. He hit many hole-in-ones, with the most recent at age 92. When he wasn't playing golf, he was watching it on television in between baseball games. Doug loved gardening and kept multiple vegetable gardens each year. He always had an abundance of tomatoes and zucchini which he shared with neighbors and friends. Doug was involved with the Republic community and recently ended a term as a board member with the Republic Housing Authority. Doug will be remembered for his wonderful conversations, his humor, and his friendship. We will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Doug and Bonnie will be laid to rest together at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield following the service. All are welcome.
