Linnea N. Lantagne, 95, of Riverland, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at home with her loving family at her side. She was born on April 19, 1929 in Escanaba, to the late Hedvig and Dora (Trombley) Sodergren.
On February 27, 1946 she married Edward Lantagne at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. Together they shared 74 years of wonderful memories. In 1953, she and her husband purchased the family farm where they started as a dairy farm but then transitioned to a beef farm and a salvage yard. In addition to raising her family she helped cared for her mom for many years with the most empathy and compassion until her mom's passing in 1994. Linnea was an inspiration to us all.
Linnea loved children and was the best babysitter to many of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Delaney, Richard (Linda) Lantagne, Donna (Jim) Pepin, Allen (Kim) Lantagne and Tammy (Greg) Johnson; twenty-three grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois VanDrese, Beverly Loid, and Gloria Terrien; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linnea was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughter, Nancy Flores; a son, Raymond Lantagne; sons-in-law, Edwin "Butch" Baldwin and Johnny "Chip" Delaney; great-granddaughter, Sarah Jean Motto; and sisters, June Eastman, Jeanine Sischo, and Roberta Anderson.
In keeping with Linnea's wishes a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lynn Hartman and the doctors and nurses at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
