MINNEOLA – Linnette Jones, 84, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Minneola Long Term Care. She was born January 2, 1941 at Minneola, the daughter of Henry and Mona (Maynard) Ratzlaff. She was a graduate of Fowler High School and was a life time area resident. She owned and operated the Hair Palace in Minneola for many years as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Minneola Community Church and Painter's Club. Linnette was a great seamstress and loved making dresses for her granddaughters. She even made all the bridesmaid, flower girl and taper lighter dresses for her younger sisters wedding. She also really loved to entertain her family for holidays, reunions or just getting together for cards or other games. On June 7, 1959 she married Jerald C. Jones at Fowler. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2025. Survivors include: a son, Paul Jones and wife Amy, Newton, Kansas; 2 daughters, Nan Luhrsen and husband Doug, O Fallon, Illinois and Julie Scherff and husband Duane, Hayward, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren, Melissa Leistikow and husband George, Ashley Haase and husband Brett, Danielle Boss, Matthew Rankin, Cassie Luhrsen, Brooke Luhrsen, Megan Mueller and husband Joe, Abigail Karst and husband Jake and Emma Jones; 17 great grandchildren; and a sister Brenda Riebel and husband Dennis, Augusta, Kansas. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Gayland and Glenn Ratzlaff and a grandson-in-law, Brett Boss. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2025 at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola, with Pastor Suzie Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at Minnis Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Minneola Long Term Care or the Minneola Senior Center both in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14 th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
