He moved to the Madison community in 1978 when the North Madison Christian Church invited him to serve. He served there for 13½ years. Bro. Talbott’s most recent efforts were spent as the Minister to Senior Adults at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, IN, where he had ministered from Aug. 1992 until his death. Bro. Talbott loved the outdoors and devoted some of his free time to hunting and fishing. He combined his love of hunting with his woodworking passion to practice the craft of gunsmithing, hand-making numerous types of firearms. He was also a student of Civil War history.

To the family of Lionel Talbott, may you find rest in God's strength during this Christmas and holiday season in knowing that Lionel served God with all he had. Praise God for the gift of eternal life. May you find rest in knowing and trusting God that he is taking care of Lionel. I had a song he sung on tape from many years ago about which church Jesus would go to if he was on the earth. He is sadly missed BUT a reunion is coming. May God bless you all.

Dear Mary Ann, Jon and Tim:

The fight is over, the course of life is finished for Lionel, he has won the race. Lionel and your family has been such a blessing to our family, especially Aunt Shirley and Grandma Roeder. I was shocked to see that Lionel has went on to live with God. I know you will take comfort in knowing that we have God on our side and that Lionel is in heaven waiting on us. Mary Ann, Jon and Tim,

Your husband and father was an example to others of Christ-likeness. He was a minister for me in his inner strength, humility and patience. His legacy is strong through his family, his ministry and his life.

Mary Ann& Family-We have so many fond memories of Lionel, as a good

friend as well as our minister. He was so supportive of our young people as well as the adults.

One special thing I will always

remember is how, even though he was leaving NMCC, he encouraged the disappointed to continue to worship

and do the Lord's work at NMCC.
