The Can-Do Do-Gooder
Lisa Brown- Johnson Dies at 58
Lisa Brown- Johnson one of the last surviving siblings of Brown family has died. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her family while at the Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio. She was 58.
"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our loving matriarch of so many years " Her family said in a statement. "Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of our icon and family legend who touched the lives of so many. We find solace in her legacy living through her guidance for generations to come " They went on to say.
Lisa was best known as a dedicated worker and family pillar. She never turned her back on anyone needing her assistance. "Having a place to go after work is a home, having someone in that home is a family. Having both is a blessing and I am blessed", She once told an interviewer. "My mother taught me to cherish family and while we may have our differences; we are still a unit". She added.
A product of catholic school education, she was a graduate of St Adalbert School and Villa Angela Academy (now Villa Angela- St Joseph) where she excelled in academics and extra curriculars that consisted of yearbook staff, school newspaper and marching band (playing the clarinet). After graduation, she attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in Psychology. She also academically excelled at the Metropolitan Health Radiological College, graduating in the Top 10 of her class in 1991.
A constant lover of music, she once braved cold winter storm temperatures and stood outside all night long just to purchase tickets to see the 1985 Prince Purple Rain Tour. "We nearly froze to death but it was so worth it and I would do it again, then one more time and then again." She said. I count that as one of my finest musical achievements, she added with a laugh.
She is survived by Richard, her husband of over 35 years, her daughter Karlynn (Karly) and her son Anthony (AJ), her brother Lucious and her nieces Annalisia, Rebecca and Brittany as well as her nephew Luther and granddaughter Lilly.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1:00PM at The St Adalbert Catholic Church, located at 2347 East 83rd Street. Cleveland, Ohio.
Arrangements Entrusted to the Funeral Directors at the Strawbridge Memorial Chapel.

My fondest memory is enjoying Lisa´s company at school everyday. Villa Angela Academy molded us into fine women. Lisa´s photo is in the top right hand corner.
