Randy Owens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strawbridge Memorial Chapel on Mar. 18, 2026.
It is with hearts full of love and cherished memories that the family of Randy David Owens, Jr. announces his passing on March 7, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio - the city he called home from the very beginning of his life to its end.

Randy was born on October 24, 1984, to Sharon Fox and Randy Owens, who loved and nurtured a son who would grow into one of the most warm-hearted and connected souls those around him had ever known. From an early age, Randy understood something that many spend a lifetime learning: that the people in your life are your greatest treasure. He made it his personal mission to stay in touch with everyone he loved - a phone call here, a visit there - always making sure no one felt forgotten.

Randy received his early education at Anton Grdina School, where he began his academic journey from kindergarten through 5th grade. He continued on to Central Junior High School for 6th through 8th grade, then attended South High School for 9th and 10th grade. He ultimately finished his education at East Technical High School, where he proudly graduated with the Class of 2003. Those years of moving through Cleveland's schools

shaped a young man who was resilient, connected to his community, and ready to leave his mark on the world.

Randy lived life with a full and generous spirit. He had a gift for bringing people together, and nowhere was that more evident than around a grill or a card table. He was the kind of man who could turn an ordinary afternoon into a memory with nothing more than good music, good food, and good company. Whether he was manning the BBQ, dealing cards, watching his favorite sports teams, or simply turning up with the people he loved, Randy

had a way of making everyone feel at ease and at home.

Beyond his infectious personality, Randy had a deep and sincere heart for service. He dedicated himself to working with children and individuals with disabilities, touching lives in ways that words can scarcely capture. His patience, compassion, and genuine care for others were a reflection of the man he was at his core - someone who showed up not just for his own family, but for anyone who needed him.

Randy was a lifelong member of The Almighty Church, where his faith was not merely practiced but lived. Within the church, he was anointed with the spiritual name Morality and honored as Number 14 - a testament to the integrity, uprightness, and spiritual devotion that defined his walk. His faith was the foundation from which his love for family, community, and service flowed.

Randy was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Liberty Fox, whose memory he carried close to his heart.

He Leaves to Cherish His Memory

His devoted parents, Sharon Fox and Randy Owens; and his seventeen beloved children: Raniya • Randy III • Rayonte • Ranell • Dae'yon • Ramiaya • Randy • Rayonna • Ra'Nyla • Serenity • Za'Ryah • Ramontae • Ryleigh • Ranayah • A'Myre • Jamarion • My'Kah

He is also survived by his great-aunts, Maxine Ellison and Malinda Ray; his aunt, Carolyn Taylor; along with a host of extended family, dear friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by knowing him.

Randy David Owens, Jr. was more than a son, a brother, a father, and a friend - he was the heartbeat of every room he entered. His laughter, his loyalty, his faith, and his love will echo in the lives of everyone he touched. May he rest in the peace he so freely gave to others.
