Lisa Ellen Carter (née Biederman), age 41, passed away on June 13, 2025, in
Westerville, Ohio. Born on April 26, 1984, in Pueblo, Colorado, Lisa lived a life marked by devotion to love and her family.
She grew up in Colorado, Washington, and Pennsylvania. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. She married Phillip Carter on June 10th, 2005 in Columbus, Ohio, lived briefly in South Carolina, then settled in
Westerville, Ohio. Through it all she found she loved sunshine and being close to her family the most.
Family was of central importance to Lisa. Her life blossomed fully in her devotion to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Phillip Carter; their children Lydia Carter, Jacob Carter, and Emmeline Carter; her parents Howie and Ellen Biederman; her sister Laura Corrodi; and her brothers David Biederman, Joseph Biederman, and Samuel Biederman. She also found so much happiness in her nieces and nephews and was always looking for ways to spoil them.
Lisa enjoyed her years of marriage and personally expressed "these 20 years of marriage gave me more love than most folks would even get in 100 years." She enjoyed tackling numerous house projects with him to create more places where they could just sit and talk together. If there was a window, some coffee, her dogs, and her husband, she was home.
Yet, she had even more. She was delighted every time she saw her kids. Her interest was unending in what they said and did and she never stopped finding ways to mother them, love them, guide them, and provide opportunities for them. Knowing that her life would end shortly, she spent countless hours writing letters and setting aside gifts for them far into the future. She never wanted to sacrifice her own kids' happiness for her own and never had to because she was most content knowing they were taken care of. She was most at peace when all her kids were with her.
She attended Penn State University and Shippensburg University.
Lisa's professional journey was one of both success and heartfelt purpose. Though she excelled in every role she undertook, she was truly in her element when she founded Apple Blossom Wovens, a baby wrap manufacturing company. Her fabric was gorgeous and unique, almost always selling out before release. It was also purchased in bulk for conversion by another premiere baby carrier company. Her fabric was even featured in Saks Fifth Avenue in Downtown New York. But more than the professional success was the meaningful connections she made with everyone she worked with.
When her professional efforts came to a close because of her cancer, her beautiful gardens, always a joy to her, received renewed attention. Climbing roses, Sweet William, Delphinium, Pincushion, Foxglove, Rock Cress, Lavender, and more all in cheerful bloom throughout the season reflected Lisa's persistent joy and grace through even the most trying times of her life.
For Lisa, her faith led her in love to advocate for those who were overlooked or unheard, treating others greater than herself and ultimately into an eternity with a loving God.
Those who knew Lisa knew that she was a force of love and generosity that left everyone better for having known her. Her feelings were always clear and always rooted in genuine love.
Lisa Ellen Carter's memory brings comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Service will be held on June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Moreland Funeral Home 55 East Schrock Road. The Memorial to Lisa will begin at 11:00 with a service followed by visitation.
