Lisa Ann Cray, 59, of New Fairfield, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Lisa was the loving wife of William H. Cray Jr.
Lisa was born in Danbury, CT on January 7, 1966; a daughter of Orvis and Rosemary (Storms) Jones.
A longtime preschool teacher, Lisa enjoyed reading, time spent with her grandchildren, but above all taking care of her family before herself. Lisa enjoyed dancing and singing and she was always the 'Life of a party,' as well as being the designated 'Uber driver' for her father, Orvis. Lisa was diagnosed in August 2024 with breast Cancer, but she never let it slow her down.
Lisa went through chemo treatments and still worked a 'full time' job. Lisa did not slow down until May 29th 2025 when she was told the cancer spread to her bones. Lisa was a 'fighter' and she controlled her journey to the end of her life.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 36 years, William; as well as her children: Shawn Amero, Danielle Cray, Candace Bauer and her husband Tim, and William H. Cray III. Lisa is also survived by her grandchildren: Faith and Oliver Bauer and Christopher, Seamus and Colin Sands as well as her mother, Rosemary and her siblings, Donna Ryan, David Jones and Lynn Kovack. Lisa was predeceased by her father, Orvis Jones and her brother, Lester Jones and sister, Tammy Bishop. Lisa is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lisa also leaves behind her beloved dogs Misty and Max who laid with her until she took her last breath.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department at a later date announced by Lisa's family.
