Lisa Gayle Groce, age 57 of Belvidere, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born on January 17, 1966, in Winchester to Homer Thurston and Julia Fay (Speck) Clark Jr. Lisa played basketball and was a cheerleader at Huntland High School and graduated from Abilene High School in Texas in 1984. Her love of sports continued as she played competitive softball in Winchester and Fayetteville and enjoyed watching baseball, softball, basketball, and swimming. Lisa also enjoyed going to the beach and "putting her toes in the sand." Her family will remember her as a loving, strong-willed fighter and as their "Grammy" and hero. Before her retirement, Lisa had been employed for twenty-two years at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church. Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Steve Groce; children, Amber (Nathan) Gilliam, Heather (Ronnie) Stahl Jr, Krystin (Michael) Loyd, and Logan Groce; parents, Junior and Julia Clark; grandchildren, Isabella Gilliam, Fynlee Gilliam, Keegan Stahl, Zane Stahl, Weston Stahl, Lennox Stahl, Gwyneth Loyd, and Griffin Loyd; siblings, Terry (Bonnie) Clark, and Tracy (Danny) Green; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Terry Clark, Tracy Green, Amber Gilliam, Heather Stahl, Krystin Loyd, and Logan Groce serving as pallbearers.
