Lisa Hofacker Obituary

Lisa A. Hofacker

Lisa A. Hofacker, 63, of Palmerton, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

She was a daughter of Elizabeth M. "Betty" Hofacker (Bauer) of Palmerton and the late LeRoy A. Hofacker.

She was also predeceased by two sisters, Lori Renninger and Regina Messinger.

Surviving are a daughter, Caroline Grol (Penning), 33, of Palmerton, and her husband, Hunter Grol; her beloved grandsons, Carson, 3, and Jayce, 1; a brother, Thomas Hofacker and wife, Betty, of Northampton; an aunt, Sr. Susanne Bauer, 90, of Maple Mount, KY; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Lisa was a 1978 graduate of Palmerton Area High School, where she played basketball and was an active baton twirler with the high school band. She could always be found in the art room working on her next masterpiece.

Lisa enjoyed art, crocheting, gardening and basketball. While scarves and blankets were always plentiful, she got the most joy from gardening. Lisa always ensured everything was blooming and beautiful. She loved sunflowers. While her beloved daughter was growing up, Lisa coached her and her friends in basketball up until high school. Her love of the sport continued by joyfully following March madness yearly, and it was made sure she watched it even in her final days. Lisa will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Service: A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.

Many of the fondest memories I have were of the times we shared. Thinking of you on this Easter Sunday.

Lisa was always a good person to go to for a laugh and a good piece of advice. All the many years of heartaches and breakups in my 20s, she was always there to make me feel better and to offer to make me a big plate of spaghetti. She will be missed everyday.

Lisa, you were a kind woman, who loved animals. You will be missed. Thank you for the many years we spent together.
