Lisa McGovern, 65, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of February 19, 2026. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. She was a true nurturer to so many, always loving and caring without judgement. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 17, 1960, becoming one of six children of Grace & Joe Przybylski. She was creative from a young age and studied painting at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. Following her arts education, she went on to study at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and graduated with honors with a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics. While at Rutgers, she made lifelong friends and, most importantly, fell deeply in love with Joe McGovern, whom she married on October 16, 1982. Lisa & Joe had two children, Joey and Brit, and settled happily in Moorestown, NJ where they created a great community of friends and neighbors. She was known for her baking and sweet treats that delighted all who enjoyed them, spending summers with her family at the Jersey shore, and encouraging everyone to pursue their dreams. After many happy years together, her husband, Joe, passed away on March 14, 2011, at the age of 51. She went on to spend more years in Moorestown, NJ as a helpful neighbor walking dogs and spreading love to those who needed it most. She moved to Margaritaville in Hardeeville, SC in 2022 to enjoy retirement with her sister Terri Cucinotta and brother-in-law Carmen Cucinotta. Her final years were full of joy, laughter, love and celebration. Lisa will be remembered as the embodiment of acceptance and understanding for those who needed it most.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Joe, her mother, Grace, her husband, Joe, and her brother, Joe. Lisa is survived by her two children, Joey and Brit, her siblings, Terri, Jackie, John, and Grace. Lisa is now reunited with her husband, Joe, in the Great Beyond to walk hand in hand along the most beautiful beach into eternity.

A Mass will be held for Lisa at St. Gregory The Great, 31 Saint Gregory Dr. Bluffton, SC 29909 on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lisa’s memory to Agape Hospice P.O. Box 37, Lexington, SC 29072.
