Lisa Mullins Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 23, 2024.
Lisa Lynn Mullins, a cherished woman known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality, left us on September 5, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on July 9, 1962, Lisa lived a life filled with tremendous passion for the outdoors and making others smile.
Lisa was born to Earl and Helen George in Lovington, New Mexico. Lisa graduated from DeQueen High School. In her young adult life, she was a Tyson Hog Farmer in Gillham Arkansas. There she taught her children what a strong work ethic looks like, how women can do anything they set their minds to, all about the great outdoors, the ins and outs of being "stubborn as a pig and tough as nails" and most importantly to her, how to cast a line and catch a fish. She would visit Eureka Springs with her Granny Ima George as a child and fell in love. As an adult she enjoyed bringing her own children there as well. She loved it so much that they decided to move there and start a new chapter in life. Eureka Springs, specifically the White River, is where she brought her dreams to life and started her own fishing guide service- Custom Adventures. To Lisa a day on the water was a day well spent and you're never working if you're doing something you love. One of Lisa's most commendable accomplishments was her status as an accomplished female fishing guide. Fishing was her language, her solace, and her method of connecting with the world and people. Her knowledge of the waterways and prowess as a fisherwoman was notable, and it became her enduring legacy. The love and laughter she brought into this world continues to reverberate even as she is no longer with us. She was a bright light in many people's lives, she had the best laugh ever and was easily the best fisherwoman on the river.
She was a member of the Eureka Chamber of commerce and supporter of the Northwest Arkansas Trout Unlimited chapter. She also wrote a weekly fishing article in the Eureka Springs Independent Newspaper. She was passionate about her kids, grandkids, dogs, plants, hunting and fishing.
In 2012, Lisa finally married Richie, the love of her life after eight or more years of dating. Lisa and Rich had a fun marriage full of adventures and lasting memories. Together they loved three dogs that were like children to them- George, Snoop and Bobber.
Lisa was predeceased by her husband Richard Carlsen III, father Earl George, mother Helen George, brother Michael George, grandfather Lewis George, grandmother Ima George, her grandfather and grandmother Hughes and many more beloved family members and great friends.
She is survived by son, Robert Benjamin Mullins Jr. (her JuneBug), daughter Hayden K Knighten (her Suzie) and her husband Clay Knighten. Their four children and her grandbabies Kate K, Easton, Hudson and Kinley- her bonus daughter Ashley Nicole Carlsen, bonus daughter Lindsay Belle Carlsen, father-in-law Richard Carlsen II and mother-in-law Beverly Carlsen as well as many amazing friends and loved ones. Always remember to "Take a Kid Fishing" and "FISH ON!"
Celebration of life will be 11:30 am, September 28, 2024, at Spider Creek Resort in Eureka Springs. Please use the back entrance of the resort on CR 135. Relatives and friends are welcome.
