Lisa Parker-Rivera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hallowell & James Funeral Home - Countryside on Jan. 25, 2026.
Lisa Parker-Rivera, age 55, of LaGrange Highlands, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on January 22, 2026, after a 10 year battle with cancer. Daughter of Thomas Parker and JoAnn Parker, step-daughter of Nancy Parker, beloved wife of John Rivera; loving mother of John Rivera Jr., & Tyler Rivera and step-mother to Marci, Katie, Jeffrey, Erica, Scott, Jessica and Jacob; dear sister of Joel, Thomas, and Dale Parker.

Although only here for a short amount of time, her unconditional love, caring spirit, and bright smile filled the lives of everyone around her. From the residents at the properties she managed for almost 20 years, to her friends and family, she was always going above and beyond to take care of others.

Whether it was her amazing trip to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Texas, or even her favorite place of all, Michigan, few things made her as happy as traveling and being surrounded by family. Michigan in particular held a special place in her heart as a die-hard Wolverine fan.

The only thing she loved more than the Michigan Wolverines was her family, including her dog Harley. From the birthday and holiday parties, to the graduations, weddings, and family reunions she loved celebrating life with those she loved most.

She will always be remembered for her kind soul, her massive heart, and her unrelenting strength, even until the very end.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 31st, from 3pm-8pm, with a prayer service at 6pm, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside, Illinois, 60525.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
