Lisa Joanna Sutton, 64, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after an extended illness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Dale Hervin Ogden and Catherine Ann Norton.
Born on May 19, 1961, in Grand Island, Nebraska, Lisa spent her early years there before her family relocated to Colorado in the early 1970s. In 1998, she made Fannin County, Georgia, her home, building a life centered around family, hard work, and a deep dedication to others.
Lisa worked in the food service industry for nearly 50 years, touching countless lives with her wonderful cooking, warm personality, generosity, and unwavering work ethic. A devoted mother and grandmother, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family-especially her children and grandchildren. Known for her lively spirit and her unforgettable sense of humor, she brought light and laughter wherever she went.
On October 16, 1979, she married her soulmate and best friend, Mr. Douglas Steven Sutton. They shared more than 40 years of love and partnership until his passing on January 17, 2020.
Lisa is preceded in death by her brother, David Dale Ogden, and her grandson, Kristopher Ryann Gillis.
She is survived by her three children: daughter, Crystal Arthur of Blue Ridge, Georgia; and sons, Shawn Sutton of Forsyth, Georgia, and Benjamin Sutton of Mineral Bluff, Georgia. She is also survived by five siblings: sisters, Sue Boone of Greeley, Colorado, Cheryl Chavez of Security, Colorado, Lori Cowns of Benson, North Carolina; and brothers, John Ogden of Ogden, Utah, and Michael Ogden of Williston, North Dakota. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom she loved dearly.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, listening to music, watching TV, and reading. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family. Her love, humor, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held in Benson, North Carolina, on December 6 and 7, 2025 where family will gather to honor her memory.
