Melvie Jean Moore, born July 10, 1934, in Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away January 31, 2026, in her beloved hometown. A proud mother, Melvie had three sons, Ken Moore, Bill Moore, Joe Moore, and their respective spouses, Debbie Moore-Helton, Sue Moore, and Madge Moore. Throughout her life, she took immense pride in her family, which blossomed to include numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Melvie was known for her warm spirit and a deep love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She found joy in attending church, where she cherished the connections she made with friends and fellow congregants. Her days were often spent indulging in window shopping and dining out, enjoying the simple pleasures of life in the company of those she loved.
In addition to her life in Tennessee, Melvie had the unique experience of living in several states and even spent time in Germany, enriching her life with diverse experiences and friendships. Melvie's legacy of love and family will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew her.
The family will welcome friends Friday, February 6, 2026, at Companion Funeral Home's, Ridge Chapel, from 1:00-3:00. Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor Herman Ard, will be at 3:00. Melvie will be laid to rest at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens, Charleston, TN.
Melvie was preceded in death by: Leonard and Marie Elliott (parents), Ken Moore (son), Grover and Barbara Elliott (brother), Dennis and Patsy Elliott (brother), Joyce and Phil Wagar (sister)
