Lisa Marie (Ott) Wagner, of Burlington MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday night, November 7, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1963 in Somerville, MA and the oldest of 6 children to Marie FitzGerald and the late William Ott. Lisa grew up in Framingham, MA and moved to Burlington during her senior year, where she graduated with the Class of 1981.
Lisa embraced life. Growing up, family vacations were spent at her Nana's cottage on White Horse Beach and taking her children to Point Sebago, Maine. Whether sewing, cooking, gardening, playing computer games, reading, or crafting she had an unwavering positive attitude and a ready smile. Her homemade anisette and pizzelle cookies at Christmas and homemade blankets were hallmarks of her creativity, generosity and kindness. Lisa looked forward to all of her trips to Florida with her best friend and made many memories traveling with her brother and his family. More than anything Lisa loved being a grandmother and would spend every waking moment with her grandchildren if she could. Large family gatherings were a staple to her joy, with no birthday, holiday, or special occasion overlooked.
Lisa endeared herself to many with her sweetness, humor, openness, wit, compassion, and intelligence. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, cherished friend, and Nenay to her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her three children who loved her immensely. She raised her three children in Burlington and was well involved in the community. She worked for many years in the Burlington Public School system where she became friends with many of the students and faculty. Lisa was proud to volunteer for the Burlington D.A.R.E program. She also worked at Dunkin Donuts for many years and was much loved by all of her co-workers and regular customers. She then went to work as a home health aid for the last 15 years of her life where she assisted many people and families of all ages with many different challenges. Lisa was always compassionate, generous and selfless and made sure everyone was well cared for. Lisa always made a personal connection and opened her heart to anyone that she crossed in her life.
Lisa will be reunited with her father William Ott. Her spirit is carried on through her three children and four grandchildren. Lisa was survived by her mother, Marie Fitzgerald, and her children, Derek Wagner and his fiancé Amy Burke of Billerica, Leanne Korb and her husband Daniel Korb of Ware, and Emily Greene and her husband Benjamin Greene of Littleton. She also leaves behind her devoted grandchildren, Madisyn Sheridan, Levi Greene, Daniel Korb, and Gavin Greene. Lisa will be solemnly missed by her five siblings, Karen Cyr, Ashley Ott, William Ott, Mark Ott and John Ott and nieces and nephews, Celia Utter, Vincent Cyr, Kyle Ott, Kurtis Ott, William Ott, Matthew Ott and Allison Ott.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St, Burlington on Sunday, November 12 from 3-6 p.m. Funeral from the Sullivan Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, www.stveronicama.org, 111 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803.
