Liz Ferrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Covington Funeral Home on Apr. 13, 2022.
Audrey Elizabeth "Liz" Higgins Ferrell, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home in Munford, TN.
Liz Ferrell was born on September 9, 1952 in Covington, TN, to Cheese and Lotis Dorn Marshall Nix. Growing up with four sisters and 1 brother contributed to her feisty and fiery personality. Ms. Liz loved wrestling. Every Friday night when they opened their doors, she was in Ripley at the local arena, ready to cheer on her favorites. On Saturday nights, she'd do it all over again at the Dyersburg wrestling ring. The excitement was part of who she was. Even in her later years when she was placed on hospice at home, some of the wrestlers would come by and visit her, having missed seeing her at their matches. In addition to wrestling, Ms. Liz enjoyed going to yard sales. Every Thursday she would get a newspaper to map out where all the sales were, and she would go to as many as she could, never leaving empty-handed. She had quite the collection of green glass, and little knick-knacks.
Liz Ferrell is survived by two sons, Gene (Tamara) Briley and Dennis (Shannon) Ward; her life-long partner and friend of 42 years, Donald Ferrell; two sisters, Carolyn Elam, Edith Bradock; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cheese and Lotis Dorn Marshall Nix; her brother, James "Bubba" Ward, and two sisters, Rita Higgins and Monnia Higgins.
Services for Ms. Liz will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and interment will take place in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington.
