Liz Tumlinson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heartland Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Early on Dec. 11, 2025.
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Liz Tumlinson on December 6th, 2025. Born on February 12th, 1960 in Brownwood, Texas, she was 65 years old when she was called home. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 20th at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Liz grew up surrounded by the tight-knit community she cherished, and graduated from Brownwood Highschool in 1978. She met her husband, Phil, in June of 1983 while he was working at the mobile home park owned by her parents. The two married on September 1st, 1984, and she treasured Phil and the life they had built together. They found their greatest joy in their two children, Miranda and Trevor. Liz experienced the heartbreak of losing her daughter Miranda 6 years ago, yet she carried on with love and strength. For the last two and a half years, she called Bryan, TX home. Here she was able to see her three treasured grandbabies regularly. She delighted in watching them grow, celebrating, their milestones, watching their sporting events, or simply creating memories together. Liz also cherished her garden full of flowers and the peaceful moments she spent outside. Liz had a sharp wit, was often sarcastic, and always had a response ready, bringing laughter to everyone around her. Her generosity went beyond her family, she had a remarkable way of giving her time, support, and love to people in need. She was a patient and attentive listener, always ready to offer a comforting word, thoughtful advice, or simply an open ear. Liz fought a terrible disease with bravery and strength, meeting each new challenge with resilience. Even on the hardest days, she always put on a smiling face. We trust that she is now held safely in His arms, restored, whole, and surrounded by a love greater than we can understand. As we grieve, we know we will see her again one day. Liz is survived by her husband Phil Tumlinson of Bryan, TX; son Trevor Tumlinson and wife Riley, and 3 grandchildren, Avery, Nolan, & Barrett of College Station, TX; and many loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles & Darlene Johnson; daughter Miranda Griesbaum and infant son, Casey. To honor Liz's memory, the family invites you to purchase a toy for a child in need through Toys for Tots, or similar organization in lieu of flowers.
