Ljubodrag "Lou" Kuzmic

Ljubodrag M. "Lou" Kuzmic, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 18, 2025 in Waukegan, IL. He was born on January 12, 1958 in Brzan, Yugoslavia now Serbia and immigrated to the United States in 1972 with his father and mother. Lou graduated from Waukegan High School, had several jobs before going to work for Abbott Labs for 26 years and then Sysmex for 14 years until retirement in 2019. He loved music, dancing, played soccer for many years and also traveled extensively. He was preceded in death by his father, Miodrag Kuzmic. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shirlie; his mother, Desanka; 3 daughters, Marija (Mike) Kuzmic Loomis, Emilija Kuzmic (James Trevino) and Julija (Jake LaLonde) Kuzmic; step sons, Paul and Michael Anders and by his grandchildren Elijah, Elijana, Jimmy, Lydija, Nolan, Mylan and Andon. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a pomen service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. A visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 32377 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville. Interment will follow at St. Sava Cemetery.
