A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Lloyd D. Bloomer of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Bloomer, 70, died on June 26, 2023 at his home in Artesia.
Mike Prude will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Lloyd was born on May 12, 1953 in Elk City, Oklahoma; the son of Doyle Bloomer and Dorothy House Bloomer.
Lloyd had several different jobs throughout his professional career. In his early years he worked as a cook, truck driver, and held several different positions in the oil fields. His favorite job was as a NM State Police officer; where he was stationed in Santa Fe, NM for 7 years. He left that position to start his own company with his neighbor friend, hauling and setting up mobile homes in the central and northern parts of NM. In 2005, he returned to his oilfield roots here in Artesia, NM; where he retired from Devon Energy as a pumper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters Andrea Fuentes and husband Hector, and Heather Moreno and husband Juan; a son Marcus Bloomer; brothers Larry Bloomer and wife Debbie and Roger Bloomer; grandchildren Valerie Golden and husband AJ, Gloria Pasillas, Cynthia Bustamante, Alexis Fuentes-Pierce and husband Anthony, Justin Fuentes, Alyssa Fuentes, Ashlee Moreno, Amber Moreno, and Juan Moreno Jr. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren with one great-great grandchild due in February 2024; and numerous nieces and nephews.
