Lloyd Cox Obituary
Mr. Lloyd Cox, age 84, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home. Born on December 3, 1941, in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late John Davis Cox and the late Helen Skipper Cox. Mr. Cox took great pride in being a master carpenter who worked as a subcontractor with Universal Designers for 37 years before his retirement. In his personal life, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons, Danny Lloyd Cox, and Michael Earl Cox, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was predeceased by his wife, Doris King Cox; brothers, Tom Cox, Boyd Cox, Jack Cox, and J.D. Cox, and sisters, Dalma Cox, Geneva Faircloth, Grace Singletary, Jean Bell, and Gladys Elaine Raspovich.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Price officiating. Committal services will follow at Princeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, prior to services, at Hardwick Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 1506 Gumm Plaza, Hwy. 501, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
