Services for Lloyd R. Dolphin, age 86, of Hospers, Iowa who passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 5 to 7 P.M.at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.
Burial will be at a later date at the Hospers Cemetery.
Lloyd R. Dolphin
Lloyd Roger Dolphin, the son of Raymond and Maggie (Hulst) Dolphin was born on April 10, 1938, in Alton, Iowa. He received his education in Hospers Public School. On November 21, 1959, he was united in marriage to Kay Gano and after their marriage they settled in Hospers. Lloyd was employed at Van Iperen Feed and Grain for 25 years, later having his own truck which he operated until his retirement in 2003. The couple’s retirement years were spent in Hospers. Lloyd later became a resident of Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon in January of 2022. He passed away at Senior Care on Friday, February 21, 2025, reaching the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
Lloyd professed his faith in February of 1968.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kay Dolphin of Sheldon, Iowa; son, Lee (Julie) Dolphin; daughter, Lanise Erdhal; son Lyle (Amanda) Dolphin all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; son-in-law, Robert Nagel of Sheldon, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren’ a sister-in-law, Adeline Dolphin of Orange City, Iowa; also, other relatives and friends.
Llyod was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Linda Kay Nagel on June 9, 2023; two brothers, Don (Elaine) Dolphin and Audley Dolphin.
