Lloyd William Durham age 93 of Boones Mill passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Lloyd was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Korean War on the USS Rochester CA-124. He loved playing his dobro with his music friends at the Wadesboro Ruritan Club and other places as well. He had a love for his family and bluegrass music. He will be missed by all.
He was born on April 30, 1931, a son of the late George William and Myrtle Pate Durham. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Gladys Thurman, Dan Durham, Coy Durham (Jane), Paul Durham and John Everette Durham.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Shanda D. Michael; granddaughter, Casey Ackerberg; great-grandchildren, Connor and Liam Oberlander; sister, Janet Poage; sister-in-law, Betty Durham. He is also survived by his music family from the Waidsboro Ruritan Club, other relatives and friends.
The Durham Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 5 to 6 PM with U.S. Navy Military Honors at 6:00 PM.
