Lloyd "Michael" Garrett

Lloyd "Michael" Garrett, age 68, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, peacefully passed away on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Michael was born on March 24, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Carl and Helen. He lived in Texas until the age of about four, when his family moved to Ohio, where he spent most of his life.

From a young age, Michael was very adventurous. Growing up in Ohio, he developed a deep love for cars and became well-known as a self-made mechanic and hot rod enthusiast. His passion for automobiles led him to open Waynesville Automotive, which grew into a successful business and pillar of the community. Michael's love for cars was unmatched and well respected.

He later became the founder of GCI, where he laid the foundation for future endeavors. His ventures eventually led him to purchase a lake house in Tennessee, where he established a rental business and later transitioned into real estate.

Seven years ago, Michael purchased his retirement home in Florida. Not long after, he met the love of his life, Cindy Hughes, and together they began a new chapter, enjoying their adventures across America, then returning home to the Sunshine State.

Michael was a kind, virtuous, and courteous man who made friends wherever he went. He was loved deeply and will be missed by too many to count.

He is survived by his brother, Eddie Garrett; his sister, Renee Meek; his son, Ryan Garrett; and his daughter, Chelsea Garrett, along with countless friends and loved ones who cherished him.
