Lloyd "Gene" Glascock, at the age 86, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. A devoted resident of Albany, Louisiana, Gene dedicated over 50 years to the service of his community as a Volunteer Firefighter, Alderman, and Mayor. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and went on to be an active member of the American Legion Post in Albany. In his free time, he enjoyed being outside, whether he was fishing or doing yard work. Above all, Gene always put his family first and will be forever missed. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joy Glascock; son, Devin Polk Glascock and wife Renee Watts Glascock; daughters, Mandy Glascock Perilloux and husband Andre "Dre" Perilloux, and Desiree Glascock Flowers and husband Randy Flowers; and grandchildren, Aiden Perilloux, Wyatt Flowers, Devin Meadows, Connor Glascock, and Collin Glascock. Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Ables Glascock; parents, Lloyd M. Glascock and Fannie Lou Woodward Glascock; sister, Virginia Glascock Purvis; and brother, Phillip Ronnie Glascock. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 12012 Hwy. 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

First and only time we first cousins ever got together a couple weeks before Genes passing. We had a wonderful time reminiscing about our childhoods and growing up and being in the service. Rest in peace Gene
