Born August 4, 1953, in Homestead, FL. He was the son of the late William "Bill" Shanks and Pauline Potts Shanks. He was owner and operator of Shanks Welding & Fabricating. Mr. Shanks was a Chaplin of Racer's for Christ, he loved drag racing, singing, and quality time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Consuelo Islas Shanks; children: Tamara Shanks, Lloyd Shanks, Jr., Leia Shanks and Salina Shanks; grandchildren: Emma Shanks, Joziah Shanks, Milo Carter, Malakai Carter, Melani Carter, and hopefully many more; siblings: Billie Dennis, Joy Shorter, Gina Shanks-Burgh and Paula Angelini.
The family will have a celebration of life service for Mr. Shanks at a later date.
