Lloyd was born on January 9th, 1935, in Charles City to Jennie Katherine (Ewen) Stauffer and George Victor Stauffer. An only child, he graduated from Greene Community High School in 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie and Victor Stauffer.

After the death of his father, Lloyd dedicated himself to the family farm outside of rural Greene. Primarily a farmer, he was also a true "Jack of all trades," known for his ingenuity and ability to solve problems in creative ways. He could fix almost anything, and when he made something for a neighbor, it was always crafted to a higher standard than he would do for himself. Lloyd loved visiting and catching up on the local news, and he was a great listener, offering his time and attention to anyone who needed it.

Lloyd met his wife, Jane, at the Riviera Ballroom in Janesville, Iowa. Together, they shared a love of dancing-especially polka dances-which became one of their favorite activities. He also enjoyed watching the Big Joe Polka Show or listening to Mollie B., often tapping his toes or dancing along with Jane.

On June 26th, 1971, Lloyd married Mary Jane Sinnwell in Ionia, Iowa. Together, they raised two children: Joel Edward Stauffer of Orange City (and his wife, Laura Stauffer) and Lori Lynn (Stauffer) McDaniel of Pleasant Hill (and her husband, Doug McDaniel). Lloyd took great joy in his four grandchildren-Alec McDaniel, William Stauffer, Thomas Stauffer, and Emily Stauffer-and cherished spending time with them. He built a "Thomas the Train" to pull behind the tractor, gave rides in the skidloader, went fishing, built cardboard playhouses, and took them to work in the garden or to feed the ponies. He attended their activities, whether in person or virtually, always making them feel supported and loved.

In addition to farming, Lloyd worked as a carpenter, contributing to numerous buildings and homes in the community. He was an active 4-H leader and a leading member of the Greene Historical Society, always eager to give back and share his knowledge and skills with others.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; his children, Joel and Lori; their spouses, Laura and Doug; his four grandchildren; and his extended family of brothers and sisters gained through marriage, Charlie, Marge, Barb, Jim, Linda, Leonard, Randy, Rick and Craig and their families.
