Lloyd Allen "Butch" Thompson

Lloyd Allen “Butch” Thompson, 76, of Kenna, W.V., went to be with Jesus for Christmas on December 25, 2025. He was born on December 1, 1949, a son to the late Ernie and Ruth Thompson.

Butch is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Brenda Thompson; a son, David(Sarah) Thompson; daughter, Jo Anna(Ronnie) Poindexter; brothers, Michael(Vicki) Thompson and Timothy(Christina) Thompson; grandchildren, Alex Scheidler, Jacob Scheidler, Blake Thompson, and Ryan Thompson; furry companion of over 11 years, Teddy Bear; and many more family and friends.

Butch was a Christian and pastored multiple churches in the community for 50 years. He was also a U.S. Postal worker for 36 years. In his spare time, he was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be remembered by his family as a faithful and loving family man.

There will be a funeral service at Waybright Funeral Home on Monday, December 29th at 1p.m. with visitation held from 12p.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service are pastor’s Dana Reed and Steve Berkhouse. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery in Sissonville, W.V. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter in his memory.
