Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reflection Cremation & Funeral Service - Tifton on Feb. 17, 2026.
Audra Madeline Pucket Leedy fell asleep in death on February 13, 2026, at her home in
Tifton, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her daughter, Carolyn. In her final days, she was cared for by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Born on September 2, 1929, to Creed and Lucy Puckett in Jackson County, West Virginia, she enjoyed a happy childhood with her sisters, Pauline and Eleanor, attending a country school and playing in nearby creeks and meadows. Despite the economic hardships in a time of war, she experienced a joyful and simple childhood, creating memories and experiences that she would draw on and share with others throughout her life.
After graduating from Ripley High School in 1946 at 16, she moved off the farm to attend Capital City Business College in Charleston. She later worked as a switchboard operator, developing skills she would use for a lifetime. In the evenings, she enjoyed walks around the State Capitol and dances with live music from the big bands of the day, like "The Colonels." It was at one of these dances that she met the love of her life and dance partner of 64 years, John Leedy. They had four children: David, Carolyn, Joanie, and Jim. Audra and John loved their children and taught them to love others.
In her youth, Audra never considered herself religious, but later she and John embraced spirituality and a personal relationship with their Creator, Jehovah God, which they shared with family and others.
They enjoyed life in places including Circleville and Fremont, Ohio; Tallahassee, Florida; Easley, South Carolina; and finally
Tifton, GA. Audra brought warmth and life to every home, nurturing plants and flowers with her renowned green thumb and sharing them with others.
In recent years, she faced the loss of John in 2014 and Carolyn in 2024, as well as many friends and contemporaries. Despite these losses, she retained remarkable strength and a sharp memory, and few believed she was in her mid-90s. She embraced modern technology, mastering iPads, online banking, and YouTube, though she sometimes struggled to find the remote.
Audra will be remembered with fondness by all who knew her, but most of all by her Creator, Jehovah God. Her hope was like that of the faithful man Job, who said in Job 14:13,15 - "…that you would set a time limit for me and remember me! … You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands."
The family is deeply grateful for the love, kindness, and support shown to Audra and our family in her final days. Words simply cannot convey how much it has meant to us.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm , Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Kingdom Hall (1911 Whiddon Mill Rd,
Tifton, GA)
