Locieda Vantine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fletcher Funeral Home on Nov. 14, 2025.
Diane Vantine, 78, passed away November 13th at her home in Sterling, OK. Diane was born to Winnie May (Vaughan) Glass and B.B. Glass Feb.11, 1947. She grew up south of Sterling with her 3 siblings: Billy, Phillip, and Von Dale. Her early years were spent corralling her brothers and cousins, and playing on the creek with her friends, many from the Sterling class of 1965.
She later married Gene Vantine and had two sons: Paul and Scott. She worked for awhile at the Sterling meat plant and later did housekeeping. But Diane's proudest accomplishment was raising 3 of her grandchildren: Trevor, Aubree, and Easton. Her life centered around taking them to school, getting them ready for practices, and watching them play ball. She loved telling stories about each one and loved each one the most. They were her pride and joy.
After her illness progressed, the Sterling community stepped up to support Diane and her grandkids. The school and their teachers made sure all 3 of them thrived in their classes and were happy to be there.
The First Baptist Church, Sunday school classes, and teachers encouraged the spiritual growth of her family. They showed up and made sure no need was unmet while Diane was ill.
Throughout this time, her hospice team, friends, neighbors, and relatives who called, visited, listened, drove her places, mowed her yard, cared for her grandchildren, sat with her overnight, or contributed in any way are too numerous to mention by name. Diane often expressed surprise by the kindness and generous support of so many people. Each one of you was special to her, and she spoke of you often. We thank each of you who made the final months of Diane's life an unexpectedly joyful time.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, husband, and both brothers. She is survived by her sister Von Dale, sons Paul and Scott, 3 granddaughters: Aubree, Angelina, and Cadence; and grandsons Trevor and Easton.
