Logan Tyler Hummel, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at the age of 18. Cherished son of Brent Tyler Hummel and Jennifer Lynn Ridgway; bonus son to Ashley Cruickshank and Sheldon Svuba; dear brother of Emma Lynn Hummel, Trenton Lee Hummel, Liam Michael Hummel and Luke Alan Hummel; loving grandson of Gina Barbette (Dan Mueller) Martin, Sandra Hummel and Richard Hummel; treasured great-grandson of Barbra Sue (Michael Wiseman) Martin; nephew of Amanda Marie (Tyler) McMahon, Stephanie (Mark) Smith and Chris (Jen Echele) Hummel,; great-nephew of Kina Genelle (Craig) Bryant; cousin of Eli Bradley McMahon, Garrett Wade McMahon, Draven (Charlyn) Bryant, Ariel Bryant, Nolan McMahon and Aiden McMahon; Logan is also survived by his dear friend, Scott MacFarlane.

Logan was a bright and thoughtful young man with a deep love for imagination, the outdoors, and gaming. He had a passion for psychology and philosophy, often reflecting before acting, and lived by the words: “One of our greatest freedoms in this world is how we choose to react to something.” Logan enjoyed writing stories and creating characters, always bringing his imagination to life. In August, he began his studies at St. Charles Community College, where philosophy quickly became his favorite subject and source of inspiration. He enjoyed nature and walking along Main Street on a cool autumn or winter day. As he had fond memories of this with Grandma when he was younger.

Logan talked of a future in animal care and psychology and carried an understanding of life far beyond his years. Often described as an old soul, he was kind, funny, insightful, caring, intelligent, creative, and remarkably well-versed—truly beautiful inside and out. Quiet by nature, he opened his heart to those he trusted, becoming a loyal friend, an honest and hilarious confidant, and someone whose smile and laughter could fill your heart and complete your soul. Logan had a special connection with animals, who seemed drawn to his calm and compassionate energy, and he especially loved Shiba Inu dogs. He cherished time with his family, often rewatching childhood favorites like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Studio Ghibli films such as My Neighbor Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle. More recently, he loved Jujutsu Kaisen, which he watched multiple times just to share with loved ones. A creative spirit, Logan enjoyed video games with rich storylines—especially Red Dead Redemption—and spent hours crafting characters and backstories with friends, expanding their adventures into new games.

He took pride in always striving to be the best version of himself, carrying himself with respect and good manners, never hesitating to hold the door for a stranger. Logan was an example of emotional maturity, patience, and acceptance. He was deeply loved by his family, a true friend to many, and will be remembered for his kindness, curiosity, gentle spirit, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
