Born in Paterson, Lois was a long-time resident of Wayne. Lois had worked as a teller and then later as a supervisor for Wachovia Bank in Paterson. Lois was a faithful and long-term member of the First Reformed Church of Hawthorne and was a member of the Ruth Circle at the church.
Lois Acker was the beloved sister of the late Mildred Schaffer, and Evelyn Halma. Loving aunt of John Schaffer of Ringwood, Judy Risko of Parsippany, and Lois Watkins of Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at the Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood, NJ. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Reformed Church of Hawthorne, 259 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
