Janet P. Acker, 76, of Manns Choice, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at UPMC Bedford Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1949 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Jacob “J” L. and Lottie (Foor) Hauck. She was married to James L. Acker and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2024. She is survived by two children: Brian Butler and Brenda Malone, both of Manns Choice; three grandchildren: Jessica Eshelman and husband Nathan, Jina and John Paluscio; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Geonna, Skylar, Naudia, David, and many more; three brothers: Gary, Kenneth, and Jay; and three sisters: Nancy, Barb, and Carol. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Karen and Katherine; and two brothers: Joe and David.
Janet worked as a postmaster and retired after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and sharing a special bond with her son Brian, who was her baby.
