Lois Bosworth, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Monday, January 5, 2024 at her residence.
Memorial services will take place Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Lois Marie (Young) Bosworth was born on May 26, 1934 to Bruce and Nellie (Johnson) Young in Charles City, Iowa. She grew up near Rudd, Iowa where she attended grade school and graduated high school in 1953. She worked in Mason City, Iowa until 1957. Lois loved roller skating and dancing at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.
On January 20, 1957, Lois was united in marriage to Gene Francis Albers at the United Church of Christ in Klemme, Iowa. They made their home on a farm outside of Klemme. Gene and Lois were blessed with six children. During those years, she was very active in the church and served as a Sunday School teacher and then church treasurer. She was a Girl Scout Leader and 4-H leader. Lois enjoyed camping, then years later enjoyed the lake house in Minnesota, loving her six children dearly every step of the way.
On June 12, 1982, Lois was united in marriage to Harry Thomas Bosworth at the United Church of Christ in Belmond, Iowa. They made their home in Mitchell, South Dakota. Lois welcomed three stepchildren who were a huge blessing to her life. And the new adventures in life began.
As Tom worked with his veterinary practice, Lois farmed and did everything she could to help out. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and loved teaching her children and grandchildren her skills of hunting and fishing. She would always say "All we really leave in this world is memories!" Her friends meant everything to her and Lois sincerely loved each and every one of them.
Lois was a woman who knew the Lord, accepted His invitation and seeked Him daily. And her life displayed that.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Deborah (Mike) Bettin of Odebolt, Iowa; Denise (Jim) Davis of Clear Lake, Iowa; Randy (Laurie) Albers of Cape Coral, Florida; Cheri (David) Ray of Dallas, Texas; Micheal (Karla) Albers of Lake View, Iowa; Mark Albers of Saginaw, Texas; Ross (Kim) Bosworth of Decorah, Iowa; Brad Bosworth of Canoa, Ecuador; Brian Bosworth of Greenville, Mississippi; grandchildren: Tara (Jon) Reaman; Tyler (Nicole) Bettin; Lauren (Clayton) Riedell; Ian (Alysa) Davis; Andrew Davis; Hannah (Noah) Hagen; Jason (Alisa) Albers; Amy (Nicolas) Hampton; Katie Gnapp; Nicole (Tanner) Wittrock; Trevor (Madison) Schmidt; Alexandria (Nick) Nicaj; Blake Bosworth; Laura Bosworth; Matt (Alma) Bosworth; Rachel Bosworth; Brianna (Jonathan) Davey; Nick (Anna) Bosworth; 19 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

You were a wonderful person and a great help to my mother especially during her heart surgery in 2008. You came all the way to Arizona and stayed for two weeks with her and helped her a lot which of course that helped me a lot I could not be there as I had to work it was a very dark time in my life but Lois was there to help.
She was a great sister-in-law to my mother in the great aunt to me. Thanks for everything aunt Lois.
