Steven Craig Lenz

Steven Craig Lenz, age 74, of Storm Lake, Iowa died August 11, 2025 at Good Samaritan Center in Algona, Iowa. Private family services will take place at a later date in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Early. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Steven was born on December 10, 1950 to John and Maxine (Rukes) Lenz. He attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Early and graduated from Crestland High School in Early. He went on to attend Mankato State University and later graduated from Buena Vista University. Steven worked retail sales for many years including managing Sernett Stores in Algona and Storm Lake. He was employed as a sales representative for Silk Screen Ink for many years until his retirement. In his free time, Steven enjoyed working on the acreage where he lived and being outdoors. On October 1, 2021, Steven suffered a life altering stroke that he never recovered from. He struggled with his infirmity and going to dialysis three times a week. On December 24, 2023 he had another stroke and was in the care of the Good Samaritan Center in Algona until he passed peacefully on August 11, 2025. Steven will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Maxine Lenz; brother; Bob Lenz; sister: Sharon Wunschel; and nephews: Mark Lenz and TJ Wunschel. Steven is survived by his brother: Mike Lenz of Newell, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and their children.
